Tooling Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced Tooling Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role requires deep expertise in collaboration and automation, engineering, and architectural design, with a focus on Jira, Confluence, and the Microsoft Power Platform The ideal candidate will have a programming background and a proven track record of managing complex projects and cloud migrations. As a senior member of the team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the cloud infrastructure, leading technical projects, and mentoring junior engineers.
Role Responsibilities
Manage JIRA project configurations including schemes, permissions, notifications, custom fields, and issue types
Provide support for Confluence, offering best practices and guidance where necessary
Implement high-impact automations across departments, leading to measurable improvements in turnaround time and process reliability
Identify and deliver new automation initiatives in line with emerging business requirements
Collaborate with stakeholders to scope, build, and refine automated workflows
Gather and refine workflow requirements through direct user engagement.
Post-migration support and administration of JIRA and Confluence SaaS platforms
Integrate user onboarding with Okta and Active Directory, significantly improving provisioning and access management
Gather and refine workflow requirements through direct user engagement.
Plan, execute, and support complex AWS cloud migrations with workload assessments, strategy design, and post-migration optimization
Leverage AWS-native tools and best practices to ensure secure, seamless, and cost-efficient migrations with minimal business disruption
Experience / Competences
Essential
Strong Jira experience covering migration, design, and administration of all aspects of the service.
Strong Confluence experience covering migration, design and administration of all aspects of the service
Proficiency in programming, with a demonstrated history of developing and maintaining custom solutions
Good collaboration & communication skills
Hands-on experience with AWS including migrations, cloud automation, security best practices and architectural design
Desired
Experience in the Microsoft Power family of tools, particularly Power Automate
Familiarity in security and compliance within cloud environments
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex cloud-based environments
Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions such as CloudWatch, AppDynamics, Prometheus, or ELK Stack.
